Both of my right windows dont work in my 1991 Lincoln Towncar. What should i do?

Answer 1 :
Have the window motors replaced.
Answer 2 :
you need to thoroughly check the switches, they could be the problem. The master switch on the drivers door can cause the other switches to not work. start there. I doubt that BOTH window motors would fail at the same time. first thing to check is ALL the fuses. good luck.
Answer 3 :
Check to see if your have current to the door window motors. One way is at night(when dark), click the master window switch or each right door switches to see if the dome light dims (with the door open) or use a test light at the harness plug of the window motor. If the the dome light dims or the test light show current, the hit the window motor with a mallet. This might jar the motor to start working again. With the door panel removed, now is the time to lube all the moving parts.
Answer 4 :
Very common on TCs of that era. If you can hear the window motor running you might get away with replacing the regulator gears. They are plastic and fail with regularity (pun) :

About Lincoln Rhyme handicapped

Lincoln Rhyme handicapped?
I am a big fan of the Lincoln Rhyme novels. I mostly listen to the audio books. I have only heard recent books and he already is handicapped by his spine being "broken". However, I clearly remember Denzel Washington being at a crime scene himself in "The Bone Collector". As they changed the names of characters in the movie, did they also change the fact that Lincoln works "from home" via technology or is he being injured in a later novel. If yes, in which. Thanks in advance.

Answer 1 :
He received his injury in The Bone Collector, the first book in the series. He was definitely handicapped in the movie. You should watch it again. I thinnk there may have been a flashback to him getting hurt at a crime scene, and that's probably what you remember.
Answer 2 :
In the Bone Collector movie, the scene with Lincoln Rhyme working a crime scene and then getting hurt was presented as a flashback. Then the movie fast-forwarded to the present time, with Lincoln now disabled and working at home with the assistance of a boatload of adaptive technology. So in that respect, they stuck to the book (even though they still changed some characters around

It should, Ford is the parent company of Lincoln. I would go with a unit from one of the F-Series trucks, so it better matches yours

Answer 1 :
your tranny is going!, try changing the fluid, and if you have OD, try just using drive
Answer 2 :
There is temp sensor in th trans may be bad, best to have the codes scanned and a proper diagnose
Answer 3 :
old worn out trans fluid or the wrong fluid if it hasn't been changed do that. You can compare it just by letting what you can drip off the stick and then put some fresh out of the container of new fluid you will probably see a big difference when they are compared side by side. Then if that's not the problem look at all the sensors and connections to the trans and if there are no codes and sensors and connections are good then you just need another trans

I work at a local bowling alley, they have a room for parents to drop off their children while they bowl on leagues. The bowling alley pays me because this way they get more people to sign up for leagues. Sometimes parents will also tip. Work at a "Pick-Your Own" Farm. You will get paid a decent amount. For example, in the fall you can go to apple orchards and offer to pick up the apples that have fallen on the ground. I used to do this and get paid 50 cents a basket. This may not sound like much but the basket fill up quick and it still leaves time for other part time jobs. You can start your own worm beds and sell the worms for fishing. Offer to help clean out peoples garage, barn, attic, basement, etc. They will pay you to clear out the clutter. If there's stuff worth saving that they want to get rid of you can then have a garage sale to earn even more money. Look for stuff at garage sales that might sell good on eBay. Remember to bargain at the garage sale, the less you pay the more you will make when you resell the item

About Why won't my high beams work on my 94 Lincoln Continental

Why won't my high beams work on my 94 Lincoln Continental?
I've had a mechanic and a dealer put in 3 different multifunction switches (between the two of them). This blew out my windshield wiper module and ended up costing me 400 bucks just to get the wipers working again. Is there a part that controls the high beams under the dash? The high beams will flash but only low beams come on when put in the high beam position. This has happened on all 3 multifunction switches.
Lincoln - 4 Answers
People's Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
Answer 1 :
Find a competent mechanic. Most of the time the high beams are fused separately, did you check fuses?
Answer 2 :
yes find a good mechanic first then I suggest that the headlight switch be the next thing to be checked out.
Answer 3 :
Obviously the mechanics you are dealing with are not diagnosising the problem properly. Usually the headlights are supplied by the same power source to the switch. In this case the power is coming into the multifunction switch and from there it is supposed to be channelled into the low or high beam circuits. There must be another circuit or module in this particular make that does the actual switching between the modes. I would suggest a lamp control module or something to that affect. You need a wiring diagram for your car to be able to test and repair properly. These are available on-line from all manufacturers, although difficult to navigate to the proper diagram. Good luck.
Answer 4 :
You have a open in the circuit for the highbeams, should be the light green wire with the black stripe. there isn't a control relay or anything else in the circuit that could cause the brights not to work if the switch is good

Answer 1 :
You have the value and the value criterion switched. Your value is the ideal that you believe should be upheld - in ld, the value is generally either justice or morality. Your value criterion is the means by which you will evaluate which side best upholds your value. Utilitarianism/consequentialism is arguable the most common vc, but variations among the value criterion are common

About Which Electric Fuel Pump will work best for my 1966 Lincoln Continental

Which Electric Fuel Pump will work best for my 1966 Lincoln Continental?
Im putting a Electric fuel pump in my car. What size and what type is best for my 1966 Continental? And who sales it. Its a 462 V8 engine in there
Ford - 3 Answers
People's Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
Answer 1 :
Pretty much all of the low pressure ones work. I would get a major brand name pump, like holly or edelbrock, and mount it close to the fuel tank. Electric fuel pumps are better at pushing fuel, rather than pulling it. You may need a fuel pressure regulator for your carburetor, depending on how picky it is. As far as where to get one, here's 2 sites www.summitracing.com www.jegs.com
Answer 2 :
any low pressure one will work good on it,you don't need anything over 6 pounds at the most on it,advance has some in stock that are universal, and they,ll mount on the frame rail of about any vehicle, they only put out about 6 pounds of pressure, that would work really good with that set up,ask at the parts counter, and they,ll know what your talking about, good luck on it.
Answer 3 :
Carter makes a decent pump that mounts on the frame in the rear. Most any auto parts store can get one or look at www.summitracing.com for this pump http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=CRT%2DP4070&N=700+400415+4294839053+4294836965+4294891681+115&autoview=sku

stick with the manual pump as the electric pumps are a pain in the you know where, they are also noisy and not very dependable.
Answer 2 :
I would go with a holley. They make one perfectly suited for the application you require. Call your local speed and custom shop and they can better assist you. They make matching filters too. You don't want to spend good money on a sweet pump and then throw in some doo-doo filter that could possibly not flow the same GPM (gallons per minute) that the pump does. You might need a fuel pressure regulator too....holley has you covered.
Answer 3 :
Mallory, amonst many others, makes a fuel pump for a carb type engine. It needs to be about 5 psi or so, so as to not overpower the needl/seat in the carb

About will the doors from a 1965 lincoln continental hard top work with a 1965 lincoln continental convertible

will the doors from a 1965 lincoln continental hard top work with a 1965 lincoln continental convertible?
i recently just purchased and pulled a 1965 lincoln continental convertible from the woods. it has major rust problems on all four doors. instead of repairing the doors i want to just get them from another car. Would the doors from a hard top in the same year fit or do the doors have to be from a convertible? If anyone has parts or info that you think I might find useful. i would gladly appreciate you contacting me. My email is dhaone02@aol.com
Lincoln - 3 Answers
People's Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
Answer 1 :
I do not beleive they will work due to the pillar between the doors on the hard top that the vert doesn't have. Windows will not seal correctly.
Answer 2 :
No unfortunatly they will not work although they will fit, because a convertible in those days had reinforced doors to make up for the lack of structure that is a charatistic of any convertible. the heavier doors prevent body flex and add stability during highway speed travel. a lighter door will fit but when the cars frame modulates to absorb a bump, that energy will go to the weakest point and cause it to bend or break. also you would not want to get in an accident with weaker doors, as they would collapse like an import. Good luck. and pearsonville auto parts and auto wrecking may have some parts for you. and they ups.
Answer 3 :
i agree with the other person the window size is probably different and i do know the mechanism in the windows would have to be changed because the rear door windows automatically drop down a few inches when you open the rear door.

what other car engines work in a 65 lincoln continental? anything that fits perfect without adjustment?

Lincoln - 4 Answers

Answer 1 :
It has to be a big block ford of some kind those old continentals all had big low horsepower motors, rebuild the one that was in it is your best bet finding something else 40 plus years later is not going to happen without some custom fabrication work. good luck though I had one those are cool cars for sure and all to rare now a days
Answer 2 :
I'm virtually certain this would be an FE-series engine...therefore, a 352,360, 390, 406, 410, 427, or 428 would bolt in with practically no engineering required.
Answer 3 :
They shared MEL engines with the big Mercury's.. they have the fuel pump on top in front.... The MEL Engine Forum 383, 410, 430, 462 ... ford-mel-engine.com/ Lincoln Forum: Topics: Posts: Last post. No new posts Lincoln Forum General ... http://www.ford-mel-engine.com
Answer 4 :
truthfully the answer of knuckles and others are correct, however these wide engines in this narrow engine compartment created certain problems for accessory drive items this is why the original crankshaft has a longer front snout, as the power steering pump is made into the timing cover housing. this one difference makes any swap difficult it must also be noted that these pumps had leakage problems and finding usable crankshafts and housing/pumps are just not happening any more. my suggesting is to contact an aftermarket drive company for a braketing/pully combination that will fit your combination/application. this may require a/c and p/s hose fabrication but will be easier than swaping in a magna-steer power steering column out of a late model cadillac. best wishes
