About will the doors from a 1965 lincoln continental hard top work with a 1965 lincoln continental convertible

will the doors from a 1965 lincoln continental hard top work with a 1965 lincoln continental convertible?
i recently just purchased and pulled a 1965 lincoln continental convertible from the woods. it has major rust problems on all four doors. instead of repairing the doors i want to just get them from another car. Would the doors from a hard top in the same year fit or do the doors have to be from a convertible? If anyone has parts or info that you think I might find useful. i would gladly appreciate you contacting me. My email is dhaone02@aol.com

Answer 1 :
I do not beleive they will work due to the pillar between the doors on the hard top that the vert doesn't have. Windows will not seal correctly.
Answer 2 :
No unfortunatly they will not work although they will fit, because a convertible in those days had reinforced doors to make up for the lack of structure that is a charatistic of any convertible. the heavier doors prevent body flex and add stability during highway speed travel. a lighter door will fit but when the cars frame modulates to absorb a bump, that energy will go to the weakest point and cause it to bend or break. also you would not want to get in an accident with weaker doors, as they would collapse like an import. Good luck. and pearsonville auto parts and auto wrecking may have some parts for you. and they ups.
Answer 3 :
i agree with the other person the window size is probably different and i do know the mechanism in the windows would have to be changed because the rear door windows automatically drop down a few inches when you open the rear door.
