About Why won't my high beams work on my 94 Lincoln Continental

Why won't my high beams work on my 94 Lincoln Continental?
I've had a mechanic and a dealer put in 3 different multifunction switches (between the two of them). This blew out my windshield wiper module and ended up costing me 400 bucks just to get the wipers working again. Is there a part that controls the high beams under the dash? The high beams will flash but only low beams come on when put in the high beam position. This has happened on all 3 multifunction switches.

Answer 1 :
Find a competent mechanic. Most of the time the high beams are fused separately, did you check fuses?
Answer 2 :
yes find a good mechanic first then I suggest that the headlight switch be the next thing to be checked out.
Answer 3 :
Obviously the mechanics you are dealing with are not diagnosising the problem properly. Usually the headlights are supplied by the same power source to the switch. In this case the power is coming into the multifunction switch and from there it is supposed to be channelled into the low or high beam circuits. There must be another circuit or module in this particular make that does the actual switching between the modes. I would suggest a lamp control module or something to that affect. You need a wiring diagram for your car to be able to test and repair properly. These are available on-line from all manufacturers, although difficult to navigate to the proper diagram. Good luck.
Answer 4 :
You have a open in the circuit for the highbeams, should be the light green wire with the black stripe. there isn't a control relay or anything else in the circuit that could cause the brights not to work if the switch is good
